For patients with limited mobility or suffering from dementia, it is critical that carers are alerted quickly of any potential fall or wandering of patients.
The iCall wireless range has been designed to provide instant notification to cares and nursing staff when a patient leaves their bed, chair, or is wandering. When activated it will trigger the nurse call system it is connected to allowing care teams to ascertain the patient’s safety.
What is Included:
- 1x iCall Wireless Receiver
- 1x iCall Wireless Bed Sensor Mat with Transmitter
- 1x Wireless Reciever 9v battery and mains power adaptor
- 1x Nurse call connection cable
- 1x Nurse call splitter (where applicable)
How does the mat work:
The iCall Pressure Mat features a pressure sensor to detect when a patient leaves their bed or chair in order to provide the carer with advanced warning of any wandering or fall. The moment the patient falls or leaves the bed or chair, the mat will instantly send a signal to the Wireless Receiver, which will then sound a standalone alarm or signal an alert through the connected nurse call system. This allows the caregiver to quickly ascertain the patient’s safety in a prompt fashion, limiting injuries from falls or unattended wandering.
Mat Placement – Bed
Whilst all our Bed Sensor Mats can be used underneath thin foam mattresses, they are designed to be placed on top of the mattress. In order to maintain comfort, we recommend that the mat is placed beneath a fitted sheet.
This will ensure the sensor triggers the alarm immediately, avoiding the delays or false alarms that can sometimes occur when the mats are placed beneath a mattress.
Nurse call Connection or Standalone System
The iCall Range can be connected to a nurse call system through the iCall Wireless Receiver for centralised activation, or used on its own, independent of a nurse call system to give localised alerts through the built-in alarm sounder on the receiver. The volume can be deactivated for silent in-room operation when connected to a nurse call system.
With many Care and Nursing Homes, Hospitals and Hospice’s that have a central nurse call system, the direct connection into this will allow the nurse call system to be triggered allowing simple and quick reaction from care staff.
The standalone option is ideal for home users and for lounge environments in care homes where there are multiple patients in care supervision. When triggered the signal is sent directly to the iCall Wireless receiver and the built-in alarm will sound providing a warning to carers.
Pairing
The iCall range has been designed with a simple pairing system to make it as easy and quick as possible to get set up and ready to use in any environment. Available with nurse call connection cables to suit most leading call systems.
How to Use:
Once the Sensor Mat has been paired with the iCall Wireless Receiver, the sensor mat will then send a signal when activated when the patient leaves the bed / chair. The alarm on the receiver will then sound (if set to do so) or will trigger the nurse call system if connected to one.
